AI Engineer
At Float, we are on a mission to build the world's first Agentic Home Platform, starting with the first Agentic Consumer Energy Company — because energy is fundamental to homes.
Float is a Copenhagen-based and venture-backed startup with a senior team. We have a full-stack AI approach to our product and our way of working.
We're always looking for great and talented people so please reach out if you can see yourself in this type of role.
The Role
We are live. We are scaling. Now we're looking for a strong AI Engineer who thrives at the intersection of models, systems, and production infrastructure.
This role is about making AI systems work — reliably, efficiently and at scale.
You will:
- Deploy and optimise ML models in real production environments
- Build scalable inference pipelines for high-frequency IoT data
- Improve latency, robustness, and cost-efficiency across the AI stack
- Design monitoring, drift detection, and continuous validation systems
- Work closely with firmware, backend, and product to integrate AI deeply into the platform
- Contribute to LLM-driven and agentic workflows across the entire team
You will sit between modeling and infrastructure — and make the intelligence layer actually run.
What We're Looking For
You should apply if you:
- Have 4+ years of experience deploying ML systems into production
- Have strong Python skills and experience with modern ML frameworks
- Understand trade-offs between accuracy, latency, memory, and compute cost
- Have worked with real-world data pipelines (streaming or near real-time)
- Care about observability, monitoring, and reliability
- Enjoy solving messy integration problems across systems
Bonus if you have:
- Experience with time-series or IoT data
- Experience optimizing inference cost at scale
- Experience with edge/embedded deployment
- Experience building AI-powered product features beyond core modeling
- Startup experience in high-ownership environments
Why Float
- A rare dataset at the intersection of IoT + energy + AI
- Real hardware deployed in real homes
- AI that interacts with physical systems
- Institutional venture backing
- Small, senior, ambitious team
- Equity included
This is a role for someone who wants to build AI that powers critical infrastructure — not just experiments in notebooks.
Practical Details
- Location: Copenhagen
- Compensation: Competitive salary + equity options
