What You'll Work On

You will own and evolve the next iterations of the Float module — our plug-and-play IoT device that connects to smart meters and streams high-resolution energy data to our AI platform.

Your responsibilities will include:

Embedded Firmware

• Develop and optimise embedded C/C++ firmware
• Work with microcontrollers (e.g. ESP32 or similar)
• Optimise power consumption, boot time, and reliability
• Implement OTA update systems
• Work with secure boot, encryption, and device authentication

Connectivity & Protocols

• Integrate and optimise connectivity protocols, especially Matter
• Work with MQTT, HTTPS, TLS, and certificate-based auth
• Ensure reliable field deployment in real-world network conditions
• Debug carrier-level issues and signal optimization

Hardware & Prototyping

• Collaborate internally and externally with hardware development consultants
• Build and test prototypes
• Prepare devices for small-batch manufacturing

Production & Field Readiness

• Work with manufacturing partners
• Define test procedures and QA processes
• Improve robustness for thousands of deployed units
• Solve real-world edge cases

Who You Are

You are not just a firmware engineer. You are a builder.

You likely:

• Have 3–8+ years of hands-on embedded / IoT experience
• Have shipped physical products before
• Are comfortable debugging both firmware and hardware
• Understand connectivity deeply — not just libraries, but what happens on the wire
• Can go from schematic → PCB → firmware → cloud handshake

Bonus points if you:

• Have worked with energy systems, smart meters, or HAN ports
• Understand secure device provisioning
• Have built LTE-M or NB-IoT connected devices
• Have experience scaling hardware beyond prototype stage
